Director of Architecture

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and manage platform enhancements and operations, software development, data product development, data pipeline development and governance, and quality management

  • A hands-on leader who can implement best practices and training for the Engineering team

  • Provides agile methodology and continuous improvements to both product development and engineering

  • Develop and execute day-to-day action plans associated with projects, production needs and quality compliance

  • This role will require a “Player Coach” mindset.  Looking for strong technical ability and customer communication skills regarding architecture and product integration

  • Create and manage Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

  • Partner with product and digital marketing teams to support product design and new business development

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.  This includes mentoring and leading a technical team

  • Experience leading the Design and Architecture of Software and Data Processing Solutions

  • Good skills in productivity software desired (Jira, Asana, Confluence, etc.)

  • Experience with commercializing at least one product related to data pipelines operating at terabyte+ scale

  • Experience in developing and supporting cloud-native solutions

  • Experience with managing and reconciling technical debt

  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure setup

  • Strong technical project management skills

  • Passionate about innovation and solving difficult problems

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and are comfortable communicating with team members, collaborators, vendors, and customers

  • Preferred Master’s or doctoral degree in the sciences, engineering, or related field

  • Preferred 5 years of industrial experience at either a life science, biotechnology, or medical device company
